This kitchen renovation started with a re-design of the existing kitchen space, including the relocation of the large refrigerator, removing a wall separating the desk area from the rest of the kitchen, and changing out the existing peninsula with a new large island. Dated light maple wood cabinets, black appliances, a white sink and Corian countertops were all slated to be replaced as well.
First, dark maple espresso double-stacked cabinets in a raised panel style were chosen. New stainless appliances including a counter-depth French door refrigerator, a wine refrigerator, a wall oven under a drop-in gas cooktop with an over the range hood were included in the new design. The existing floor tile were enhanced with the installation of a decorative border around the perimeter of the beautiful new island. Granite countertops in “Sage Brush” were selected and carried over to the knee wall in the family room area. The stunning kitchen tile design above the window area provides the eye with height continuity and just the right decorative touch. Stainless decorative hardware completes the new look.
